Your plan will
be reviewed by a Residential Energy Specialist (HERS Rater) to determine energy
efficient design, generate a preliminary rating, perform an improvement
analysis, and
provide a list of cost effective energy upgrades to help the home reach the
Energy Star
level.
SW-HER will
perform a pre-insulation inspection to review framing details, air sealing issues,
quality of duct layout and sealing, and pin-point any other areas that might negatively
effect the performance of the Home. Pre-Drywall inspections are also done
to determine
the quality of insulation installation on all insulated surfaces.
The Blower Door
Test is performed to determine the tightness of the home and determine
major areas of air leakage. A Duct Leakage Test also is performed to determine
the tightness of the air supply system. A final visual inspection of all components
that impact energy use is also done at this time.
